Attachments

Important

In Collibra 2024.05, we launched a new user interface (UI) for Collibra Data Intelligence Platform! You can learn more about this latest UI in the UI overview.

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

An attachment is a file that you upload via an asset page, domain page, or community page. Attachments are used to store the images that are uploaded in the following areas of Collibra:

  • rich text attributes on the asset page.

  • the description of a domain or community.

  • in comments linked to the relevant asset, domain, and community.

Attachments can also be used to attach a limited set of reference documents.

Note The attachment feature isn't meant to allow Collibra to be used as an alternative for a file storage system like Google Drive or Amazon S3. Collibra doesn't include functionalities like file versioning, setting download access differently per individual file, or uploading large files. If you want to use these functionalities, store your file on a file storage system and create a link to it in a rich text attribute or comment.

You can find attachments on the community, domain, or asset page → Attachments.

The number of attached files is shown next to the Attachments tab. To easily find the right attachment, you can sort and filter the attachments per asset, domain, or community page by the following:

  • File name

  • File type

  • Uploaded by

  • Uploaded on

You can find attachments on the community, asset, or domain page → Files.

  • Adding and removing attachments doesn't change assets, so their last modified date will not be updated.
  • Uploading attachments is restricted by the file upload settings. Collibra administrators with access to Collibra Console can manage these settings.
