2021.01

This release is only available for Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud. Features and enhancements that are marked with cloud-only will never become available for on-premises environments.

New features

Collibra Data Catalog

  • You can now use guided stewardship. Guided Stewardship is a set of features designed to help Data Stewards in client organizations establish reliable and fully-connected data structures within their Collibra environment. It does so by simplifying the process of creating connections between physical data assets and their associated logical and conceptual (business) assets within Collibra. With this first release of Guided Stewardship, users can now use the Physical Data Connector to manually add data classes to Column assets and connect the physical data layer to the logical data layer. For more information, see its demo.
  • Presto is now available on Marketplace as a certified Data Catalog connector.

Collibra Data Lineage and BI integrations

  • You can now create a technical lineage for a MySQL data source.

Collibra Data Governance

  • You can now add the new "Manage all resources" global permission to a global role to give its users access to all communities, domains and assets. Users with this global permission do not need the relevant responsibilities to create, edit or delete resources.
  • The logs now contain more information about authentication events.
  • The packaged Sysadmin role no longer has unique and hidden resource permissions.

Collibra for Desktop

  • You can now see assets that are ingested from Looker.

Collibra Data Privacy and Workflows

  • Redesigned interaction with workflows by using a task sidebar. Workflow forms are now displayed in a sidebar instead of a dialog box.
    Note For upgrades to 2021.01:
    • The task sidebar is automatically enabled in your testing environments.
    • The task sidebar is by default disabled in your production environment but you can enable it via Collibra Console.
  • You can now copy and paste the task URL in a new browser tab or window.
  • If you click a task in the tasks table, the sidebar shows the task's related asset.

Enhancements

Collibra Data Lineage and BI integrations

  • The Power BI and lineage harvesters can now connect to a Collibra Data Lineage server located in Canada for AWS users. If you have to change your firewall rules to include the new Collibra Data Lineage server's IP address, run the lineage harvester with a full-sync command and restart your DGC service in Collibra Console.
  • The lineage harvester configuration file now contains a region property for Google BigQuery data sources.
  • The Technical lineage viewer, Browse tab pane and Settings tab pane are now improved.

Collibra Data Governance

  • Collibra's user interface is further improved with landmarks, headings and asset link labels to better support screen readers.
  • The Export and Display mode buttons in the content toolbar are now compliant with accessibility standards.
  • If you are navigating in Collibra by means of you keyboard, activating Skip to content now moves the focus to the title bar instead of the filter pane.
  • Users without the Manage shared Views, Dashboard and Search Filter global permission no longer see the Save for all users button on relation views.
  • When exporting a file to Excel a user will be notified at the beginning of the process if the row and columns count in the resulting file will be higher than allowed limit in Excel files.
  • The loading time of the Migration export page has been improved.
  • When you now print an asset page, the responsibilities are also included.

Collibra Reports and Insights

  • Complex relations are now included in the Reporting Data Layer, enabling you to download complex relation information for reporting purposes.

Collibra for Desktop

  • You can now click the breadcrumbs for easier navigation to domains and communities in the app.

Collibra for Mobile

  • In your search query, you can now enter an asset type to filter by that asset type.
  • Enter "Define <search term>" to search for the definition of the search term.
