Fail over from master to slave

When the master of a repository cluster is not available, you have to fail over from your master to a slave. This is necessary as a master is mandatory for a cluster.

This action is also known as promoting a slave to master.

Prerequisites

The Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud environment to which the cluster belongs is stopped.

Steps

1. Open Collibra Console with a user profile that has the SUPER role.
   Collibra Console opens with the Infrastructure page.
2. In the tab pane, click the name of your repository cluster.
   The repository cluster details appear.
3. In the Master section, click next to the service.
4. In the Slave section, click next to the service that you want to promote to master.
5. In the Master section, click Set master.
   The Add services dialog box appears.
6. Select the removed slave from the drop-down list.
7. Click Add services.
   The added service is set as master of the cluster.
8. Click Close.
9. Start the environment again.

Note If the node that ran the original master repository service is no longer reachable, remove it from the node list, if not, your cluster will fail to start.
